Standard of Work
Detail Roofing Pty Ltd (“Detail Roofing” hereafter) will carry out the work described in this quotation in a proper and workmanlike manner, in accordance with all relevant plans, specifications, and Australian Standards.
Materials
All materials supplied by Detail Roofing will be of suitable quality for their intended purpose. Unless otherwise stated in this quotation, all materials used will be new and sourced from reputable suppliers.
Performance and Timeliness
All work will be undertaken with due diligence and completed within a reasonable time, subject to weather conditions, site access, and the availability of materials.
Pricing
This quotation represents a fixed price. Time estimates are indicative only and may vary in practice; however, no adjustment to the agreed fixed price will be made unless variations are authorised in writing.
Variations
Detail Roofing team members are not permitted to carry out additional work beyond the approved quotation unless authorised by management. Any variations must be detailed in a written amendment or additional quotation and formally accepted by the client prior to commencement.
Fixed Quotation
This quotation is fixed and non-negotiable after works have commenced.
Guarantee
a. All new roofing works* are guaranteed for 10 years, and all repairs are guaranteed for 12 months, unless otherwise stated on the quotation. The guarantee becomes effective upon completion of works.
b. Should any workmanship-related issue arise within the guarantee period, Detail Roofing guarantees to inspect and rectify the issue promptly and at no additional cost.
c. If Detail Roofing is called to investigate a warranty claim and the issue is found to be unrelated to our work (or caused by third-party damage), a call-out fee of $165 (incl. GST) will apply.
d. In circumstances where rectification is deemed unviable, Detail Roofing reserves the right to refund the contract value for the works completed instead of undertaking further works.
Exclusions
This quotation excludes latent conditions, unforeseen events, or any work not specifically described within the quotation.
Right to Withdraw
Detail Roofing reserves the right to withdraw from this contract prior to the commencement of works. Any deposit paid will be refunded in full should this occur.
Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
Full payment is due upon completion of works (C.O.D.).
For works over $3,000 (incl. GST): a 10% deposit is payable upon acceptance of the quotation.
For works over $6,000 (incl. GST): a further 40% payment is due upon delivery of materials, with the remaining balance payable upon completion of works.
Cancellation After Material Procurement
Once materials for the project have been ordered or delivered, the client may not cancel or withdraw from this contract without incurring costs. In such cases, Detail Roofing reserves the right to retain or recover the value of all materials purchased, any associated delivery or restocking fees, and reasonable administrative costs. These charges will be deducted from any deposit paid, or invoiced if the deposit is insufficient.
Delays and Site Access
If the commencement or progress of works is delayed due to the client, other trades, or the site not being ready or accessible, Detail Roofing reserves the right to:
a. Reschedule the project to the next available date in our work program;
b. Charge a stand-down or rebooking fee to cover labour, transport, and administrative costs; and
c. Recover costs associated with storage or handling of materials already delivered to site.
Detail Roofing will make reasonable efforts to coordinate schedules and minimise disruptions; however, such delays are outside our control and may impact completion timelines.
Ownership of Materials
All materials supplied and installed by Detail Roofing remain the property of Detail Roofing Pty Ltd until full payment for the works has been received.
In the event of non-payment, Detail Roofing reserves the right to recover or remove any materials supplied, subject to applicable laws. The client grants Detail Roofing access to the property for the purpose of recovering such materials if necessary. Risk in materials passes to the client upon installation, but ownership remains with Detail Roofing until payment is made in full.
Late Payment & Debt Recovery
a. All payments must be made by the due date stated on the invoice. Failure to make payment by the due date will constitute a breach of contract.
b. Overdue accounts may attract interest at 2% per month, calculated daily from the due date until payment is received in full.
c. The client shall be liable for all costs incurred by Detail Roofing in recovering any outstanding amounts, including but not limited to debt collection agency fees, legal costs, and administrative expenses.
d. Detail Roofing reserves the right to suspend or discontinue any ongoing or future works until full payment of overdue amounts is received.
Material Price Adjustments
Due to market fluctuations, all quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued. If the quotation is accepted after this period, Detail Roofing reserves the right to review and adjust material prices based on supplier increases or availability.
Where significant price increases occur after acceptance but before material procurement, Detail Roofing may provide written notice to the client outlining the adjustment. The client will have the option to accept the revised quotation or withdraw prior to material ordering without penalty.
